Poetic reaction to "C[h]oral Communities"

"Your Ceramic/Sound installation nourished my body's need
for the beautiful and textured sounds of the universe."

the low guttural tones of the whale
and the male voice reading poems
offer a counterpoint
to the high-pitched whining sounds of the wolf cries.
a pause in the sounds
allows breath to exist on its own
and give heart a moment to prepare
to open wider.
this silence amplifies the wail that follows.

-Jeanette Eberhardy

Poetic reaction to "Hearing Handles"

Echos of vibrations are seen
in the dripping remnants of the falling curves.
Where moments hit others
and disfigure the steady intention
of sound,
always constant until
a groan from across the chasm goes
against the current and strikes.
